Back in the year 1933, Adolf Hitler was appointed the leader of the National Socialist Party, chancellor of the Reich by Reich President von Hindenburg. That March, Hitler’s “Empowerment Law” made him even more powerful; Hitler became the dictator of Germany. With his new power, Hitler began his own personal army called the Nazi Party in order to control and eliminate certain races of people. Everyone who wasn’t considered to be Aryan was and still to this day is punished for it. This includes African Americans, homosexuals, gypsies and most importantly, Jews. In Hitler’s eyes, even being part Jewish was a crime. Today in 1935, the Nazi Party occupies towns and cities all throughout Germany. The Nazis have closed down hundreds of shops owned by people of the Jewish race, leaving their stores abandoned and leaving those Jewish people and their families without money. Although, most people refuse to buy from Jewish stores anyway. The Jews have been required to wear a yellow Star of David on their clothes in order to let people around them know of their race. Marriage between Jews and true Germans has been forbidden and even punishable by law. People who are not of Aryan race have been taken away from their house and family members and sent to concentration camps. These camps are serious and deadly. It’s said that at these camps, people are worked, starved, beaten, burned, and gassed to death. All because of their race! Something they can’t even change or alter. The people of Germany, whether they’re German or not, are being persecuted for the way they were born. The Hitler Jugend (HJ) teaches young Germans all about which races are considered to be inferior, corrupting the minds of future generations. Nothing has changed in German for the better and something has to change. Citizens of our country are being killed in the millions. Millions! We all have a voice and it’s time we start using it to help those who are suffering.
