In a recent survey, it has been found that the majority of citizens of this good country are opposed to immigrants. Many people believe that immigrants will bring communism into our country, and are stealing our jobs. After discoving this fact, I hunted down a young woman to tell me her story. For her safety, I will only refer to her by her first name, Esperanza.
The following is her view on immigration.
"I know that many people are unhappy with me for coming here. The company my mother and I worked for treated their workers terrible, especially my people. I did not want to have to come here. I had a good life back in Mexico for a very long time, but when my father died it all changed. We feared for ourselves, and for the well being of our friends. It would have been impossible for us to stay in Mexico and be free. It wasnt easy getting here, but being here isn't much easier. I do manual labor, I clean and pick the foods that you all enjoy eating. I know that many Americans believe we are stealing their jobs, but none of the Americans want the jobs we are doing. "
Well there you have it folks, straight from the mouth of Esperanza. Many of the immigrants have no choice but to come here, and they do the jobs the rest of us turn down. I think that Americans need to either be willing to do these manual labor jobs, or they need to accept the immigrants who do them.
